Natalie Bates
Now the principal of the school, Natalie started dancing at Step Ahead when she was four, and was trained by Ms Yvonne Gilmore. And started teaching 17. She believes that dancing should be fun as well as a challenging discipline. To Natalie, Step Ahead is more than a business, for which she has great ambitions.
Rebecca
Rebecca Singleton
Rebecca is the latest addition to the Step Ahead team. She joined the school in 2001 and has
taken part in numerous competitions and showcases. Rebecca loves dancing at Step Ahead, its her
favourite past time and has allowed her to make lasting friendships. I am really looking forward to
getting stuck in with the lessons and passing on my love for dance to our younger pupils.
Paolina
Paolina Saulino
Paolina has been dancing at Step Ahead for over 16 years and has been teaching since 2008. She
is a keen street dancer and does a fantastic job at heading up our baby street class at the Poynton
school. She is currently working towards gaining her teaching qualifications in tap, ballet and modern
dance.
Anne-Marie Morris
A former medical secretary, Anne-Marie began her dancing career at the Madge Stevens School of Ballet in Chorlton when she was eleven. Anne-Marie joined Step Ahead in 1992, and gained her teaching qualification in 1999. She cannot tell you her favourite style of dance – she loves them all. Her teaching style is focussed but fun.
Carol Ackers
Carol worked in the finance sector before teaching at Step Ahead. She joined the Eileen Clarke School of Dance as an adult, before coming to Step Ahead in 1992 with Anne-Marie. She gained her teaching qualification in 1999. Her knowledge of the syllabus is extensive, and her classes are thorough and enjoyable.
Jennifer Bagley
Jenny is a student paediatric nurse, and was three when she started dancing at Step Ahead. She teaches at Step Ahead, and particularly enjoys training students for competitions. Jenny’s outlook on dancing is a balance between working to constantly improve the standard, and enjoying the chance to exercise in a fun, sociable environment.
